We drop into deep rest in the Sacred Darkness.

Sacred Darkness is a weekly online gathering of contemplation in community over the Winter period.

Thursday evenings from 9pm (GMT/UTC) for one hour.

Commencing 7th November 2024 till 30th January 2025.

Embracing the gifts of the season

For millennia our ancestors lived in relationship to the cycle of the seasons. Activities were aligned with the sun and the availability of natural light.

In Winter time, when the nights draw in, there would have been no other option but to be in darkness. Perhaps by the warmth of the fire and light of the lantern.

The tasks of the day would be completed in the light. As darkness falls, the tasks are put aside and there is a natural sense of slowing down. When the external stimulation falls away, we inevitably turn inwards.

In the last one hundred years or so, we have become accustomed to artificial light in our home, workplace, and social spaces. With electricity we banished the darkness and vanquished the perceived limitations of nature.

Yet at what cost to the biorhythms of our being?

Sacred Darkness is a moment of pause in the busy-ness of the week.

21st Nov - Eva Weaver

Eva Weaver is a writer, art therapist, coach and performance artist. She moved to Britain from Germany in 1995 and lives in Brighton where she offers coaching and immersive retreats.

As a contemporary Snake Priestess, Eva is a potent channel for the medicine of the Snake and their wisdom for these times.

Benjamin van Haeff is a singer-songwriter, poet, educator and creative catalyst. He uses his artist voice to nurture and restore our connection to the beauty and wholeness of life.

His soul-crafted music, concerts and workshops are a gentle invitation to journey together; to fall in love with the living body of life, as well as offering healing for the broken places we all carry.

9th Jan - Fred LaMotte

Fred LaMotte is a poet, modern-day mystic and author of several books including "The Fire of Darkness".

He believes that poems are maps for getting lost in the wilderness of your heart, where everyone can find you. Fred also teaches college courses in World Religions, and for many years was an interfaith college chaplain.
