Poetry from the Portal
Dec 22, 2023Can you feel it? The Sacred Pause in the turn of the wheel of the year?
At Solstice time in the Northern Hemisphere, we experience the shortest day and longest night. We enter a portal of potential. A space to compost what has come before. A space to dream into the future yet to be.
So often at this time folks are rushing around to meet the demands of family, friends and festivities. If that’s you, then I hope you find a moment of pause and peace in it all.
Over the last few days I’ve been wrapping up loose ends and preparing to drop into the darkness of the Solstice. One task that I am delighted to have brought to completion, is gathering and sharing a collection of my poems – Poetry from the Portal.
In the portal of the pandemic times, poetry started to emerge through me. My intention was to write a book about my work in Sacred Sexuality. Instead - and quite to my surprise - poetry popped out.
These poems are transmissions through the channel of my being. Some were inspired by Love and Eros, lovers and longings. Some were written during a "dark night of the soul". Where I felt myself to be compressed by the density of life until a gem of awareness emerged.
"These poems share Gayatri's heart and her spiritual depth, depth of both light and sacred darkness. They connect the fire of her body to the brilliant night of her soul." - Fred LaMotte, Poet & Mystic
"Gayatri has a unique, potent voice. Her poetry is visceral and touches me in deep places." - Eva Weaver, Author & Coach
"Gayatri is one of my favourite poets. I share her poems far and wide, and folk always ask me who she is" - Jewels Wingfield, Educator, Catalyst & Healer
Most of the poems came out fully formed. I tweaked and touched up slightly but generally shared them on social media without much editing. Some were recorded and shared in my voice on SoundCloud.
They seemed to stir folks. Voicing things sensed yet not previously expressed. Giving permission to feel more, notice more, and be real more.
By request I have brought my writing together into this collection. Available for purchase by donation on Ko-fi.
May these words touch whatever they touch in you.
